A bit about us

This blog is recording the VINE Project performance work of Fusion Theatre’s Dramability - a community based drama and theatre group that meets in the theatre of Dandenong Community Arts Centre on Wednesday evenings each week to work on drama skills and create theatre. (Dandenong is an outer suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in case you are reading this from afar.)

The VINE project occurs in the lead up to the IDEA congress in Hong Kong in July 2007.

The group is made up of some pretty seasoned performers as many members have been with the group since it started in 1997 and some were even performing long before then. Most of the members of the group are adults with disabilities but we prefer to focus on the abilities and hence the group is called Dramability - there are some exceptional talents. In 2006 Dramability has been Incorporated as Fusion Theatre.

My name is Jo Raphael and I am the acting Artistic Director for this project in 2006. Larry Boyd has returned as Artistic Director in 2007. There are also some talented and committed Deakin University students of Drama Education involved in the project.
